The focus of my work may have changed along the way but working on complex problems for some of the world’s largest and most impactful brands (Microsoft, Nike, Starbucks, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The Gap) has left me feeling a sense of gratitude. I did start my career as a Chartered Accountant, after graduating with a business degree from the University of British Columbia in 1996 but quickly realized that the consulting field was the more enjoyable path to take.
—I realized my superpowers can be best leveraged by activating purpose through an organization’s human performance system. If done correctly, companies will see inspired people delivering inspiring performance – a true win-win.
Although a generalist at heart, I found a passion for people-centric solutions about 15 years ago. I have built depth of expertise in people strategy design & activation, performance management, employee experience design, organizational design and learning strategy articulation. My superpowers center on systems thinking, creative problem solving and teaching others.
After collaborating with Lynxeye on a common project, I realized my superpowers can be best leveraged by activating purpose through an organization’s human performance system. If done correctly, companies will see inspired people delivering inspiring performance – a true win-win.
Before joining Lynxeye, I was part of growing an award-winning people consulting firm, PeopleFirm, which was acquired by EY in 2019. Prior to that stop, I held a variety of consulting roles across many other organizations. Whenever I’m not working, I love playing ice hockey. Although I enjoy other sports such as downhill skiing and golf, I am truly only happy with a hockey stick in my hands.
—Purpose offers a north star for employees to follow. It not only anchors their daily work, but it can also inspire them to find new ways to contribute and grow within the company.
Name a great purpose example
I have watched Lululemon go from a hometown, local business hosting yoga events in the park to being a globally recognized clothing brand sponsoring major events. What has stayed constant throughout their evolution is their purpose of helping elevate human potential by helping people feel their best.
What is corporate purpose?
Purpose offers a north star for employees to follow. It not only anchors their daily work, but it can also inspire them to find new ways to contribute and grow within the company. If people truly live the brand authentically, your main beneficiary will be your customers.
What inspires you?
I really appreciate Lego. On a personal level, I love that this product was there when I grew up and was still there for my daughter to enjoy. On a professional level, I love their Lego Play facilitation certification so we can bring more play into the world of work. Both of these elements go back to them wanting to inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow.
When do you love your work?
Working with smart and insightful colleagues trying to solve some complex and interesting problems.
